Foundation Hramada runs civic and cultural programmes for the Belarusian democratic community in exile. Like most organisations of its size, the constraint was never ambition — it was that every programme needed digital operations behind it, and there was no engineer to build them.
What the work involved
- Standing up and maintaining the web presence and supporting infrastructure for Foundation projects.
- Wiring the everyday operational flows — publishing, forms, communication with participants — so that programme staff could run them without an engineer in the loop.
- Keeping hosting and data handling inside the EU, which for an organisation working with people at risk is a safety requirement rather than a preference.
Why it matters here
This is the shape most NGO engagements take: not a single flagship product, but a set of small systems that have to keep working while the people who depend on them are busy doing something else. It is also where the Praxis working method came from — build it, document it, hand it over, stay reachable.
